Shillong, Aug 8: The District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills District has promulgated Section 144 of the CrPC prohibiting any person or persons holding spontaneous black flag demonstration and burning of effigies without permission that may result in breakdown of law and order in the district. Obstruction of vehicular movements in areas where government functions are on and attended by VVIPs and carrying of arms and any other lethal weapons have also been prohibited in Shillong and the entire district. The restrictions shall come into force with immediate effect until withdrawn.
