Security lapse in Railway station?

GUWAHATI: Ahead of the Republic Day celebrations in the state, the city police are on high alert. The same cannot be said for the city railway station as lack of security and an unguarded attitude is observed. The main scanner machine at the entrance of the Guwahati Railway Station has been laying collecting dust since a long time. According to Railway officials, manual checking and metal detectors are used for every person entering the station. The scanner machine is not available locally and an order has been placed to procure it from outside the state, but has not made it to the station yet.
