Selection trial for wrestling

KOKRAJHAR, Nov 5: The District Sports Officer (DSO), Kokrajhar on Thursday organized a selection trial for wrestling at Sikhjhar Taekwondo Stadium, Kokrajhar with active cooperation of secretaries of Taekwondo association and members of Judo, kick boxing, wushu, Tongil, mo do and karate association. This was informed by the DSO, Kokrajhar, J. Mohilary.

Mohilary said the age groups 12-18 years who are interested for wrestling can contact at nearest DSO for full details of trials and application forms of their concern districts. She said other than the listed districts any applicant from any district of Assam can apply through DSO or directly to Assam Wrestling Academy (AWA) on or before November 13. She said the AWA, under sports authority of Assam was a historical step by the authority, the first residential state of the art wrestling academy to facilitate local talents, at Amingaon Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Jalukbari, fully furnished separate boys and girls hostels, dining hall, Gym, Intertiol standard wrestling mats, coaches, physiotherapist, nutritionist, security, and schooling for all the students at free of cost.
