Self-defence workshop for adolescents in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR: A self–defence training programme for adolescents was inaugurated here in Sivasagar on Saturday. The training programme is an initiative by three women - Yesme Karba Rathi, Pratibha Ladha and Rakhi Lahoty.

Inaugurating the training programme at Maheswari Field, Marwaripatty, Pallav Gopal Jha, Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar, said that the initiative was laudable for training adolescents.

Jha assured the adolescents, especially the girls, to feel safe and said, “We are determined to provide a safe environment for all, especially for girls and women.” Appreciating the work by the organizers, Jha assured all possible assistance from the district administration in such noble social work.
