Seminar On Underwater Domain Awareness At Khanapara

GUWAHATI: To organize deliberations on newer technological concepts and innovative ideas for optimum utilization of natural resources, and sustainable development is the need of the hour. This was stated by Dipok Kumar Barthakur, Vice Chairman of State Innovation and Transformation Aayog (SITA) at a daylong seminar which was held on Thursday at Assam Administrative Staff College, Khanapara, Guwahati. He was present as the Chief Guest at the inaugural session of the Seminar on Underwater Domain Awareness (UDA) Framework for Effective Security and Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR) Vision for the River Ecosystem in the North East. The seminar was organized under the joint aegis of SITA and Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC). While delivering the inaugural address, Director of ASTEC Arup Kumar Misra said that he looked forward towards the seminar to be a path-breaking programme in addressing the aspect of all abilities to monitor the developments in the underwater region and possibly prevent disaster events, a press release stated.
