Senior IPS Officer Akshay Sachdeva Appeals Sikkim CM And Public For Justice

Akshay Sachdeva, a senior IPS official in the eye of a tempest for his role in the 11 February 2013 police lathi charge incident today asserted he is a casualty of a smear campaign for carrying out his responsibility as a cop and spoke to the Chief Minister and also the public of Sikkim to give equity against the present propaganda doing rounds against him.

Akshay Sachdeva, a 1991 cluster IPS official was scrutinized for his role in the police activity against SKM workers at their party office in 11 February 2013 for allegedly assaulting then Chief Minister Pawan Chamling's escort. I was just doing my duty according to the authoritative order. I am a sincere and genuine officer who has adored and served the State and its kin with most extreme truthfulness and clarity."His proclamation comes a day after the State government ordered his suspension inferable from an enquiry pending against him. During the period, Sachdeva will be situated in Gangtok and will not leave the central command without getting the permission of the government.

Asserting that the Supreme Court has not held him liable in the 2013 incident, Sachdeva said the court had simply solicited the State government's point of view, to which some are doing smear campaign against him through social media due to their personal stakes looking for his suspension in this specific case which he said is profoundly unfair. He likewise questioned whether the police isn't authorised to make a move against the individuals who are assaulting general society or the VIPs and provide them security.

He additionally trusted and expects positive reaction from the Chief Minister who is additionally the Home minister.
