Senior jourlist passes away

MANGALDAI, March 8: Abul Haque Choudhury, a senior jourlist of Sipajhar in Darrang district, former president of All Assam Jourlists’ Union (AAJU), former president of Sipajhar Press Guild and office bearer of several local public organizations, including Club Jasmine, passed away in the early hours of Thursday at his residence at village Maroi of Sipajhar area following prolonged ailments related to kidney. He was 59. He had been associated with the Hindi daily Purvanchal Prahari as the local scribe stationed at Mangaldai since its inception. The untimely death of the jourlist has widely been mourned in the media fraternity all across Assam. AAJU president Pankaj th, Hitesh Hazarika, president and Mayukh Goswami, secretary of Mangaldai Media Circle, and office bearers of several media organizations have expressed deep sorrow and grief at the demise of Hoque Choudhury and paid condolence to the bereaved family members. He has left behind his wife, two young daughters and a host of relatives.
