Separate Road Mishaps, 1 Dead, 4 Injured

GUWAHATI: One person died while four others were injured in separate cases road mishaps last night in the Lankeswar area of the city. A Yamaha bike (AS 25 L 3209) which was on its way from Azara to Jalukbari, knocked down one Mathura Mohan Sarma, aged about 60 years at the Lankeswar area. Sarma was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead.

The bike rider Jeeban Deka (22) and pillion rider Nabajit Das, both hailing from Chaaigaon, were seriously injured and were shifted to Sanjabani Hospital for treatment.

On the other hand, an Apache bike (As 01 DU 9036) heading towards Jalukbari from Dharapur knocked down a woman named Manju Das near Lankeshwar under Jalukbari Police outpost. Both Manju Das and the bike rider Ashis Sarma was seriously injured in the accident and were initially admitted to the Ayurvedic Hospital at Jalukbari. But later, Ashis Sarma was shifted to Marwari Hospital in the city for better treatment.
