Seven held with stolen railway materials

Guwahati, Nov 6:  D K Singh Inspector/RPF/North Lakhimpur along with the staff on October 29 at about 2.30 pm chased three vehicles loaded with railway materials which origited from the go-down cum residence of one Rajbir Sharma located at Khelmati Ward No. 12 in North Lakhimpur town and moving towards Harmuti through tiol Highway No. 52, railway official said.

The vehicles bearing no (i) AS 07C 1547 (Tata DI), (ii) AS 07C 5289 (Mahendra Bolero Pickup) & (iii) AS 07C 6480 (Mahendra Bolero Pickup) loaded with CST 9 pot (MG/broken) total quantity 5300 Kgs (approx) were intercepted and handed over to Now-Boicha Police Out Post with 7 apprehended persons.

The apprehended persons are Pranjal Gogoi of village Badhakara under North Lakhimpur, Bhim Gorh (driver) of village Beharabasti, North Lakhimpur, Hemon Doley of village dhala under Police station, Samer Ali of Badmahal ward no. 12, of North Lakhimpur, Ashan Ali of Badmahal ward no. 12, of North Lakhimpur, Nur Islam of Badmahal ward no. 12 of North Lakhimpur and Rafiquel Mullah of Badmahal ward no. 12 of North Lakhimpur.

Further, raids & search were conducted in the iron scrap godown cum residence owner of Rajbir Sharma alias Raja of Khelmati under North Lakhimpur and he was arrested accordingly.   

The value of the recovered railway property is about Rs 98,000. All the arrested persons were forwarded to SRM/COURT/GHY on October 31 for judicial custody. A case has been registered under RP (UP) Act case no. 1 (10) 2015 u/s 3 (a) RP (UP) ACT dated October 30.

In another incident Railway Protection Force officials conducted an ambush at the PRS center in New Bongaigaon against tout and apprehended two touts mely Dipak Sah, (25) of Moai Mosidabad, Police Station Ghorachang, District Motihary (Bihar) presently residing at Ram Krish Mission, New Bongaigaon, Police Station and District Bongaigaon (Assam). On interrogation he further stated that he has been working as coolie at NBQ station since 4 to 5 yrs without any license.  And another Kamalesh Sah, (30) of Moai Mosidabad under Ghorachang PS in Motihary district (Bihar) presently residing at village Ram Krish Mission, New Bongaigaon.

Further the party raid & search was conducted in the house of Kamalesh Sah and recovered seven railway e-ticket, one number journey cum reservation ticket and one number PNR status report. The arrested persons were forwarded in the court of Railway Magistrate; Guwahati for necessary legal action.
