Sex workers held

JORHAT, Feb 20: A Jorhat police team led by Sub-Inspector Santanu Gowala picked up four sex workers and three clients, suspected to be students from a private university. The arrested persons included the mastermind of the illegal business, Junmoni Dutta along with three sex workers. After getting specific information, the police team in presence of Circle Officer (east), Debahuti Borah caught the three sex workers red-handed from the residence of Junmoni Dutta at Pub-Bongal Pukhuri area under Sadar Police Station.  Soon after the arrest, the people of Bongal Pukhuri, Pub Bongal Pukhuri, Parijat gar, and Chandan gar stormed the Sadar Police Station and demanded punishment for them for allegedly making the area a heaven for flesh trade. Junmoni allegedly has high contacts and used to lure young girls from Teok, Titabor, Mariani, Golaghat and galand into flesh trade
