Shakti Mahila Mandol demands ouster of corrupt officials

Haflong, May 24: The Shakti Mahila Mandol, a frontline women welfare organization of the district, has lodged a complaint against Dr Jadav Gogoi,  i/c Additiol Director, Animal Husbandry and Veteriry Department (Hills) Assam, Haflong, recently.

The complaint, signed by the president of Shakti Mahila Mandol, Sarkari Bagan, Haflong, stated that Dr Jadav Gogoi had been chargesheeted by CBI for corruption before taking charge as Additiol Director.

It was alleged that Dr Gogoi was a married man and was in a live-in relationship with another woman. Both were living in the Veteriry campus quarter. Dr Jadav Gogoi along with his live-in partner was allegedly engaged in corruption, bribery, fraudulency, nepotism and malfeasance and breach of trust of public and government money. Dr Gogoi had allegedly  appointed his wife Anjali Bora as tracer and brother–in-law Parag Bora as pig attendant but they never attended their duties and were been drawing their salaries sitting in Guwahati since their appointment.

Dr Jadav Gogoi’s service had been reverted by the authority of NC Hills Autonomous Council for his activities but at present the man was trying tooth and il to come back to the department by convincing the district administrator and NCHAC authority as well as resorting to vandalism and illegal means, stated the complaint.

Shakti Mahila Mandol demanded a thorough enquiry into the system so that the guilty could be brought to book and demanded appropriate action against Dr Gogoi and his live-in partner.

Sources said that the NCHAC authority responded positively to the complaint and recorded the statements of the members of the organization and constituted an enquiry into the matter. The president of e Shakti Mahila Mandol, Parboti Thaosen said, “I have already conveyed the matter to the Principal Secretary, NCHAC, and we are of the opinion that the NCHAC authority would do the needful and if the NCHAC authority fails to deliver justice then we will resort to vigorous agitation to oust such corrupt officials from the district of Dima Hasao.”
