Shatabdi Sanman For Vice-Principal of DHSK College Kalpana Sengupta Baruah

Dibrugarh: Vice-Principal (Academics) of DHSK College, Dibrugarh, Kalpana Sengupta Baruah was among the 100 women intellectuals chosen from all across India for the prestigious Shatabdi Samman during the recently held Bihar Literary Festival at Patna. Inaugurated by Governor of Goa and popular litterateur, Dr Mridula Sinha, the event was attended by many dignitaries and leading lights of the society. Speaking at the Shatabdi event, organized to mark the death anniversary of much acclaimed poetess, Mahadevi Verma, Sinha said that the awardees would contribute to the development of the Hindi language with all the more alacrity after the recognition. She also underscored the age-old culture of India to hold its women fraternity in much high esteem. Baruah had translated an Assamese book authored by Dr Hiren Saikia into Hindi under the title Gar Zindagi Hoti Ek Raat (If life were one night).
