He informed that in a recent public meeting organized by AMDA on March 30 at Motphran here, its president Kitbok Thabah had sought the state government’s support however till date there has not been any response to the countless memorandums submitted to the government on the grievances encountered by dancers and singers of the state. “This clearly shows that the government has no regard for local youths engaged in dancing or singing competitions,” he said.

AMDA further urged the residents of Meghalaya and the local dorbars (village institutions) to lend their helping hand to vote for Bateithymmai Nongrum.

“We will also observe what initiative the government will take to promote Bateithymmai, because in the past they have supported other youths who have excelled in different tiol competitions,” Mawphlang said.
