SHILLONG: The Retailer’s Association of India along with CR Projects from Meghalaya organized the first Shillong Retail Forum 2018 with the theme “Collaboration and Customer Centricity: the way forward” on 14th December, 2018 at Shillong Golf Club, Shillong.

Meghalaya Minister for Health & Family welfare, A. L. Hek graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while M. Kharkrang, SP, Special Branch attended the programme as the Guest of Honor.Speaking on the occasion, Hek who is well known for his service towards the society and building the well established Free Hawker’s Zone building near Golf Club, Shillong applauded CR Projects and Retailers Association of India for hosting this prestigious and productive event which will really take retailers business to a higher and wider platform in sales and services. Hek also emphasized on time management and punctuality that in itself is a value of self-respect, to others and in any occupational entities. Further, he also mentioned about the government being genuinely serious about creating many more hawkers zone in the state.

M. Kharkrang in his speech congratulated the organiser for taking this initiative and encouraged the retailers in the state to live up to the expectation of the customer’s needs and services required so that it will be a win-win in both the ends. The event was hosted by the CEO of CR Projects Christopher Rani in collaboration with Retailers Association of India (RAI) with a unified goal that will surely prove beneficial in many ways to all the business bodies, to educate more on how to offer the best shopping experience to the consumers by combining together to create new and unique yet personalized shopping experience to our customers.

The Forum was also attended by many imminent speakers like Kumar Rajagopalan, CEO, Retailers Association of India, who shared the importance of knowing and understanding Retail business. He further encouraged and supported the retailers in the state to keep developing and facilitating in creativity and innovations and adopting the best practices that will delight the customers consistently. The event became a pool of corporate discussions and brainstorming during the panel discussions which was chaired by David Laitphlang, President of the Shillong Press Club, Christopher Rani, CEO of CR Projects, Kunal Mordani, Director, Tanishka Retails Pvt. Ltd, beside others.

Sharing of ideas and experiences and call to action on how to improvise and focus on customer centricity in retail business were discussed with valuable inputs shared by the CEO of CR Projects to well-train the employees on services and be aware on the respective trade or business that they are dealing with. The event ended with CR Projects presenting Excellence Award to varied business personalities in their contribution towards excellent services in their business dynamics.
