Shillong student dies in Mysore

SHILLONG, Aug 16: A 23-year-old student of All India Institute of Speech and Hearing in Mysore, who hailed from Shillong, lost his life on August 14, at Kudle beach of Gokar in Kumta taluk, Kartaka, when he had tried to save two tourists from drowning in the Arabian Sea. The student have been identified as Wanteilang Jyrwa, a resident of Shillong, his body was traced only on August 15 from the same beach. According to sources, Jyrwa witnessed two tourists drowning in the vast sea and in an effort to save them he jumped into the sea but unfortutely lost his life in the process.
