Sikkim Olympic Association President to be an IOA Observer at Asian Games 2018

Gangtok: Sikkim Olympic Association President BK Roka has been nominated as an observer of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) at the upcoming Asian Games 2018, which will be held in Indonesia' s capital Jakarta and Palembang.

Roka is an Executive member of the Indian Olympic Association Executive Council.

The 18th Asian Games have been scheduled from August 18 to September 2.

The General Secretary of Sikkim Olympic Association (SOA), Jaslal Pradhan has also been nominated as an observer in the Asian Games 2018 by the Boxing Federation of India.

The Sikkim Olympic Association in a press release said that Roka's nomination as an observer at the prestigious event of Asian Games is a very proud moment for both the organization and the state at large.

“The experience garnered by them would be especially beneficial while hosting the upcoming State Games which will be held for the very first time in Sikkim and other sporting events in the state,” the release added.
