SILCHAR, July 20: In function held in the conference hall of Silchar Municipal Board (SMB) today, the launching of its web portal, www. silcharmunicipality. org, took place for better civic convenience for the citizens of this town. Niharendra rayan Tagore, chairman, SMB, said, “The tentative date for launching the web portal was July 22. But, it was due to Jayanta Saha’s hard work that we are able to launch it before time, I am grateful to him and his team for helping us take a step towards a more efficient and fast process in serving the people. It is indeed a step towards the two projects, Smart City and Atal Mission for Rejuvetion and Urban Transformation (AMRUT).”
Jayanta Kumar Saha, founder CEO, SOFTTHINK Intelligent Solutions Pvt. Ltd., said, “It gives me immense pleasure to announce that the web portal has been completed filly. We had started working on it since 2014. The website will provide with all details related to the board and also about other departments. The board can upload and download information at any point of time.” He also said that citizens will be able to know various information and details about property tax, assessment of tax and other valuable details. There are various hyperlinks in the website which provides information about the chairman and other official staffs of SMB along with details about the ward commissioners.
The website will carry information about the services that people can avail. The launching of the website will facilitate submission, downloading of various important forms. “One can easily know about their tax statement. In addition to this, list of branches and departments has been provided in the website. Information about births and deaths can also be found in the web portal”, Saha added to say. Jayanta Kumar Saha also informed that other facilities provided in the website include details about tenders and their last dates of submission, correction in various notifications and downloading birth and death certificates. Trade licenses, recruitment news and remarks section has also been provided in the website.
