Silent rally taken out

Dibrugarh, April 28: Hundreds of local citizens of Graham Baazar and its adjoining areas here took out a silent procession in protest against the failure of the police to trace the missing fourth-grade employee of Dibru College, Binod Sahu on Friday. The procession, which passed through AT Road and Mancotta Road later assembled at the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The rally, which was attended by former Chairman of Dibrugarh Municipality Board, Chandrakanta Boruah, submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, with a request for his intervention in tracing out the missing Binod Sahu. The copies of the memorandum were sent to the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister and Chief Minister. Binod Shahu went missing on April 21 when he was visiting New Market for repairing a mobile. An FIR was lodged in Dibrugarh Police station in this regard but police is yet to trace out missing Shahu except the recovery of his Motorbike near DC Court on April 27.
