DHUBRI, July 3: Year-long silver jubilee celebration of Sankardev Sishu-Vidya Niketan of Dhubri got under way with blood donation from July 1. In the meeting organized on the occasion in the school premises, welcome address was delivered by the president of the School Management Committee, Dr. Dwipendra Kumar Adhikari, while objective of the meeting was explained by the secretary of the silver jubilee celebration committee, Anubrata Chakraborty. In his speech, Chakraborty also outlined the various major programmes that would be organized throughout the year and to be concluded with function next year to end the celebration.
Speaking on the occasion, Commandant of 17 Dogra Regiment, Col. Devraj Gill appreciated the move by the school to celebrate the silver jubilee with blood donation camp, and appealed to the students to take forward the school to new heights of achievement and success. Earlier, president of the celebration committee, Ranjit Kumar Sarkar hoisted the school flag and marked the beginning of the celebration. Besides, members of managing and celebration committees, teachers, guardians, well-wishers and students donated blood under the supervision of in-charge of Dhubri Civil Hospital Blood Bank Unit, Dr. Zakir Hussain.
