Sivasagar district Congress president passes away

SIVASAGAR/JOYSAGAR, Feb 14:  Sivasagar district Congress president Ajit Ranjan Gogoi passed away on Tuesday morning at the Aditya Nursing Home and Hospital in Dibrugarh following cardiac failure. He was a resident of Joyarapar under Sivasagar PS.

Gogoi was undergoing treatment at the hospital for nearly 15 days with complaints of severe chest pain. He died due to cardiac failure at 7:45 am, according to sources.

The Congress leader leaves behind his wife, a son and a daughter. He was appointed Sivasagar district president nearly two years ago and had been holding the post since then. The Sivasagar district Congress committee held an emergency meeting where Ajit Ranjan Gogoi’s demise was mourned.
