Sivasagar man gets five years imprisonment for raping minor

JOYSAGAR: Binod Thakur (48) of Namtula Gaon under Mathurapur PS in Sivasagar was awarded five years imprisonment and Rs 5,000 fine for raping a minor girl on June 6, 2016 in the same village.

The Sivasagar ACJM court gave the final judgment in the case on Saturday and pronounced the sentence. About nine people deposed against the accused in the court at the time of final hearing, sources said.
