Six held for unlawful act on social media

NAGAON, June 11: Nagaon Sadar Police within last 24 hours apprehended total six persons from Nagaon town and its nearby areas for alleged involvement in unlawful act and spreading rumours through social media like Facebook Live.

Keeping in mind the recent lynching of two boys of Guwahati in Karbi Anglong district, Nagaon Police went into action against the unlawful acts on social media and were able to apprehend six persons from the town and its nearby areas. According to police sources, the nabbed persons have been identified as Mridupavan Muktiar of Pathari, Madhujya Mandit Boruah of Khutikatia Lakhi Nagar, Anjuman Roni of Christianpatty, Mousam Saikia of Kashalukhuwa, Pritam Das of Nagaon Barbajaar and Saityajit Nath of Jamuguri Bebejia under Nagaon Sadar police station.
