Six Persons Arrested at Uriamghat, 9 mm Pistol Recovered

SARUPATHAR: A team of Uriamghat police and D/142 CRPF of Uriamghat intercepted a Hyundai Santro car (AS-06D-7597) on Wednesday night during Naka patrolling. The team arrested six persons and seized a 9 mm pistol with cartridge tube containing bullets from their possession. Two others managed to escape. The car was trapped at Uriamghat- Gelabil road. A case has been registered at Uriamghat police station in Dhansiri subdivision.

According to sources, the 9 mm pistol and cartridge tube were being ferried across the State border of Dimapur in Nagaland. The arrested persons have been identified as Jonakmarak (26), son of Manidisth Sargma, resident of Khuti gaon Basti in Chungajan, Vikho Sema (36), son of Yaxu Sema, resident of Kigizu Basti in Dimapur (Nagaland), Kughato Sema (30), son of Hinto Sema, resident of Nakiqhe in Chungajan, Phutovi Sema (22), son of Inevi Sema, resident of Nakiqhe in Chungajan, Jalaluddin (32), son of Majamuil Ali, resident of Thodi Basti in Chungajan, and Abu Talib, son of Abdul Ali, resident of Nguvihe in Chungajan. Meanwhile, during interrogation the arrested persons confessed that they were robbers and they had come to rob a targeted house.
