Sonowal interacts with auto-rickshaw pullers

GUWAHATI, June 9: Elation was seemed to have etched on the faces of a number of auto-rickshaw pullers at Chandmari auto stand in Guwahati on Saturday when Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal interacted with them on the performance of the four-year-old Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre and the two-year-old BJP government at Dispur.

In was on Thursday last when Sonowal and State BJP president Ranjit Kumar Dass launched the Jansampark Raksha Abhiyan (drive for boosting public relations) of the party by meeting noted personalities and commoners themselves.

While Sonowal and Dass met Dr Hiren Gohain and senior journalist Kanaksen Deka on Thursday and handed them over two booklets – one on the performance of the four-year Narendra Modi-led Government at the Centre and the other of the two-year-old BJP-led government at Dispur.

On Friday, State BJP chief Ranjit Kumar Dass met renowned journalist DN Bezboruah and Prof. Prasanta Chankravarty in their respective residences hand handed them over the two booklets, besides interacting with them on the performance of the governments at the Centre and at Dispur.

On Saturday, Sonowal, accompanied by other party leaders, met senior journalist Prafulla Govinda Baruah in his Chandmari residence. On his way back, the Chief Minister had a cordial roadside interaction with some auto-rickshaw pullers at Chandmari in the city. As soon as the Chief Minister stepped towards them, a number of auto-rickshaw pullers got into a huddle and interacted with him. By handing them over over the two booklets, Sonowal requested the auto pullers to read the booklets and let the governments know their feedback. He also talked with them the performance of the BJP government at the Centre and at Dispur.

On the other hand, State BJP president Ranjit Kumar Das met social thinker Pradip Baruah and journalist Anuradha Sarma Pujari.
