Sonowal meets Hiren Gohain

GUWAHATI, June 7 : Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Assam BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass on Thursday visited noted academician and social thinker Dr Hiren Gohain at his city residence causing a great deal curiosity and speculation at different quarters. Both Sonowal and Dass also visited noted journalist Kanak Sen Deka. The visits has generated public curiosity since Dr Gohain as well Deka have been vehemently opposing the BJP’s move to grant citizenship to Hindu Bangladeshis. Sonowal later told reporters that his visit was part of the BJP’s ‘Sampark se Samarthan’ campaign to apprise prominent citizens about achievements of the BJP government at the Centre as well State. Under the campaign, BJP president Amit Shah on Wednesday called on industrialist Ratan Tata and actor Madhuri Dixit in Mumbai and briefed them on the achievements of the Narendra Modi government.
