South Point School recalls Kalaguru

GUWAHATI, June 20: South Point School commemorated  the 46th death anniversary of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha with a small function during the morning Assembly of school today.  According to a press release issued by the Principal of the school, the ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp by senior teachers of school. It was followed by the singing of the Rabha Sangeet, ‘Mandirar Duar Khula’ by the school choir. An inspiring speech was delivered as a tribute to the versatile genius by  Arpita Das, a student of class IX standard of the school. A poem composed by Bishnu Prasad Rabha was then recited by another student of class IX, Anya  Kalita which made the students feel the very presence of the legendary artiste in their midst. A group dance was filly performed by the school students to the song  ‘Kuruwa botahe…’ by the Kalaguru, sung by the school choir.
