Speaker hangs his head in shame!

GUWAHATI, Feb 13: While a shocked Assam Assembly Speaker Hitendra th Goswami had to hang his head in shame only because the alleged incident of molestation of a girl took place in his home town, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary blamed it on the Left-minded students for the incident. The incident of the alleged molestation of the girl in Jorhat was raised on the floor of the House by BPF MLA Kamala Basumatary. The MLA demanded security of girl students and women in the State. She said that she had had to face such harassments in her school life. Reacting to the incident, Patowary said: “An inquiry has already been ordered into the incident. If anybody is found guilty, he won’t be spared. Some SFI members were involved in the incident. Such Leftist students call themselves progressive. This is the handiwork of a section of students who don’t represent the student community of the entire State.” Reacting to the incident, the Speaker said: “I’m shocked and ashamed of the incident that has occurred in my home town.”
