Speaker talks to MLAs, officials

INCOMPLETE REPLIES IN HOUSE

GUWAHATI, Feb 15: Assam Assembly Speaker Hitendra th Goswami on Wednesday again expressed serious concern over incomplete replies often given by a section of departments to questions raised by members in the current budget session. Such departmental tardiness and lack of seriousness have irked legislators no end, making a mockery of House proceedings.  Goswami stated that MLAs can directly complaint to him if they come across such incomplete answers given in the House by any department. The Speaker also directed Assembly Secretariat officials to carefully read the replies submitted by the departments concerned and re-check these for completeness and correctness. “If some problems are found in the replies, I should be informed about the same,” added the Speaker.
