Strengthen democratic traditions, CM tells students

GUWAHATI, Feb 7:  Establishing direct connects with the students, Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal interacted with a group of students and urged them to have faith on democratic traditions and lend their hands to strengthen the edifice of democratic credentials of the country.

Interacting with the students of Cotton College, Nowgong College and Dr. Birinchi Kumar Barooah College of Puranigudam at the Central Hall of Assam Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, Sonowal said, “The future of our tion hinges on the students. Today’s students’ will be tomorrow’s leaders. Respect on the democratic traditions will eble them to strengthen the base of our democratic idiosyncrasies which will help them working in synergy to propel growth of our country”.

It may be noted that the students who interacted with the Chief Minister were invited to Assam Legislative Assembly to witness presentation of Budget 2017-18. Sonowal asked them to work with honesty, dedication and commitment to excel in their pursuits of life.

Former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, Commerce and Industry Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, Cultural Affairs Minister ba Kumar Doley, Chief Minister’s Media Advisor Hrishikesh Goswami, several MLAs also interacted with the students and shared their life experiences with them.
