Students panic as website uploads last year’s Meghalaya Board of Secondary Education results

SHILLONG: A mischief by a website which uploaded last year’s Meghalaya Board of Secondary Education (MBoSE) Class XII Arts results caused panic among students of the State on Tuesday.

The rumours started when the website http://files.nvshg.org uploaded last year’s results.

Following this, students, as well as school authorities who were anxiously waiting for the results, began to panic.

However, when authorities of the MBoSE verified the authenticity of the results it was found out that the website had published last year results.

Meanwhile, the MBoSE authorities who has taken strict cognisance of the matter has urged police to take action against the website.

“After we got information we verified the rumours and found out that the website had published last year’s results. The website had change only the year since last year the results were declared on May 25. But in the results uploaded today they did not change the date as it was as May 25, 2019,” MBoSE Joint Director, M Marbaniang told reporters.

He also said that the list of meritorious students which was published in the website was also of last year.

The MBoSE Joint Director said that they have written to the Cyber Crime Cell of the Meghalaya Police to block the website.

Moreover, Marbaniang also said that the results of Class XII Arts and Class X are likely to be announced next week.
