Subham Pator from Tangla secures 14th rank

Mohan Pradhan of Harisinga secures 20th rank

UDALGURI, May 31: Subham Pator of Arunodau Academy, Tangla secured 14th position with total marks 572 while Mohan Pradhan of Diamond English School, Harisinga secured 20th position with total marks 566 in HSLC exam.

Mohan Pradhan is from in a remote village med Amlaiguri , which is situated 10 km. north of Harisinga. He studied in Diamond English School, Harisinga and would ride a bicycle to school every day. Due to his family’s poor economic condition, his elder brother Rabindra Kumar Pradhan gave up his studies in the second semester of bachelor course in Tangla College. After the demise of his father Tez Bahadur Pradhan, his mother Renuka Devi supports the family by working as a daily wage labourer. The teachers and students of the school brought out a rally at Harisinga to celebrate his grand success. A total of 11,456 students appeared from the district in the exam and 1,069 got first division, 2,069 got second division and 2,584 got third division this year. The total pass percentage is 53.44 per cent.
