Subir-Nirav team wins Northeast TSD Rally

JORHAT: The team of Subir Roy and Nirav Mehta from Kolkata has won the second edition of Northeast TSD Rally. The teams of Vijay Sharma and Vivek Vikram Singh won the 1st and 2nd Runners Up titles.

Team of Angita Khaund Hatibaruah and Anindita Hazarika were adjudged Best Women’s team. Juli Gogoi and Mauchumi Kalita adjudged Runner up in women’s category.

Anuj Paliwal’s team got Best Team of Northeast. Team of Bibhas Pathak and Tridip Chiangmai adjudged Best Disciplined Team.

Youngest Driver award won by Samarth Krishna Choudhuri. Oldest Navigator award given to Pratap Chandra Bordoloi.

Anindita Hazarika also won special award for Best Social Media post. Naku Hage Chada and Hage Bitu given Most Well Geared Team award.

The rally was organized jointly by Heritage Northeast and Anchal in association with Adian. It is held under the guidance of Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India and technical assistance from Eastern Motorsports.

The rally, which was flagged off from Guwahati on January 19 had covered a distance of nearly 300 KMs before concluding at Borgos Resort in Kaziranga.

The winners were presented cash prizes and trophies.

This year, the rally has received overwhelming response as it saw participation of altogether 35 teams from Assam, Arunachal, Delhi, Kolkata and Coimbatore. The number has increased from 19 in the firstever NETSD rally held last year.

In the first leg, the teams started from Guwahati on January 19 and travelled to Kaziranga through some difficult roads before night halt at the Borgos Resort. The second leg covered a short distance rally near Kaziranga this morning before the rally was concluded.

The rally is orgaised with the motto to create awareness on Road Safety. The TSD Rally is based on TIME-SPEED-DISTANCE. The teams have to cover a specified distance at a specified speed within a specified time. Unlike other adrenaline-rushing rallies, the TSD rally is a rally where the teams have to travel at a speed between 10 KM-40 KM through difficult roads. The first edition of the rally was held from January 27 to January 29 last year.
