SILCHAR, April 26: There has been no end to the ecstasy among the teachers and students of a school with a difference which has since its inception in 1994 set the goal of achievements, not only in academic are but also in extraordiry activities. Teachers and students along with their principal, Subrata Dey, shared their moments of pride and glory with media-persons at an interaction session in the premises of their Daffodils School, located in Malugram area of this town on Monday.

As reported earlier, the participants in the three-day tiol Level Fevicol Science Project Challenge held in Mumbai from April 19 recollected the most exciting and thrilling experiences while appearing for their competitive zones which consisted of modeling, presentation, craft and quiz. The proud participants were Daisy Pathak, Subhadeep Purkayastha and Ruma Akhtar, all students of Class X. Kabita Pathak, teacher of mathematics, who led the team of achievers, was more than happy because as she said “It was something unbelievable to be on ascent in a tiol level competition to reach the zenith of success”.

The winning team of students could not hide their level of joy, of course, with some sense of sombre to miss the first position. They could be excellent in modeling, presentation and craft, but faulted in quiz competition, sliding down to the second position. This was the stumbling block to scale the top most position. Apart from that there was debate and science exhibition. In identical tone they said, “To become achievers in merit and talent is really amazing and will remain a constant source of inspiration to us and all the students of this school to aim high and reach high.”

Quite significant for Daffodils was to be among six schools selected on all India level and “Our school Daffodils was the only one from entire north east zone”, pointed out Kabita Pathak. In all 1200 schools from different parts of the country took part in the competition. The five member examition body comprising of Dr. Ramesh Kumar Modi, scientist, BARC, educationists Sathi Roy, Brinda Melsi, Ragini Bala and Horn Robert, the brand ambassador artist of Pogo channel. The science teachers who guided these talented students included Barli Dhar, Kabita Pathak and Lopamudra Chakraborty. Not to miss, Sandipan Dutta Purkayastha guided them in preparation of the model showcasing “sustaible city”. Babi Dutta Dey, vice-principal, also extended all the necessary guidance. The grand file was held in Delhi Public School auditorium at vi Mumbai. The achievement of the students was not only a matter of delight for all the 1100 students and 40 teaching and non teaching staff as well as parents and guardians, but also of Barak Valley in particular.
