Sudden inspection of LPG agency and petrol pump in Golaghat by Executive Magistrate

GOLAGHAT: Executive Magistrate Papu Gogoi, in presence of Legal Metrology Inspectors Archana Gogoi and Janeswar Wary, Supply Inspectors AR Pegu and Monuj Borah, along with officer in-charge of Golaghat PS, carried out an inspection drive in Tikir Gas Agency at Arengapara and DN Hazarika Petrol Pump in the Golaghat town on Monday.

Talking to this correspondent, Executive Magistrate Papu Gogoi said that several allegations of massive irregularities were raised against the LPG agencies and petrol pumps in Golaghat town area. Most of the LPG agencies allegedly supply less weight cylinders to consumers and the petrol pumps give adulterated petrol and diesel oil to customers.

On Monday, a sudden inspection was carried out at Tikir Gas Agency where several irregularities were detected. Six cylinders and weighing balance machine were seized during spot inspection in the gas agency. Tikir Gas Agency has been distributing less volume of gas cylinders to its customers and old model heightening balance was used instead of electronic balance machine, said the executive magistrate.

Later, the inspection team arrived at the DN Hazarika Petrol Pump and collected oil samples to be sent to the IOC for examining through the district administration. The executive magistrate of Golaghat, Papu Gogoi has taken the complaints of irregularities in petrol pumps and LPG agencies in Golaghat very seriously and given assurance of take stringent action against agencies concerned.
