Summer camps get underway in Hailakandi schools offering a variety of activities

Hailakandi: As summer holidays begin, the Hailakandi education authorities are organizing summer camps offering a variety of activities. These camps have become the coolest way to engage the students in the sweltering heat. Packed with a host of innovative activities, these camps are fast catching up the attention of students and parents alike. Several schools have lined up events ranging from sports, art and craft, dance to meditation for the young minds.

District Mission Coordinator, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan cum Inspector of Schools, Rajiv Kumar Jha said the much awaited summer camp kicked off on Monday and will culminate on July 22. Organized for the school children from lower primary to upper primary schools, the camp is for 10 days. Packed with activities like musical chair, pani-par, kabaddi, race, dance and song, art and craft, the camp will engage the children in activities that are enjoyable and also help them develop special techniques and skills such as recitation, extempore speech, storytelling, reading, memorization of tables, practice on good handwriting and alphabet writing.

Interestingly, field trips to post office, educational institutions, hospital and police station have also been chalked out. On the last day, recapitulation of all the techniques and skills imparted will be assessed. “The summer camps are all set to engage children for the next 10 days. Such camps will help to make them more competent in scholastic and co-scholastic activities and ensure all-round development of their personality,” said Jha.

Jha has issued a notice to the Block Elementary Education Officers cum Block Mission Coordinators, SSA Mission, to organize the summer camps for students of lower primary and upper primary schools under their respective blocks to enhance their learning skills in the summer vacations.
