Symposium on 'Advanced Materials for Sustaible Applications' in Jorhat

JORHAT, February 17: The CSIR-North East Institute of Science & Technology, Jorhat will host the Materials Research Society of India (MRSI) Symposium on the theme ‘Advanced Materials for Sustaible Applications’ and the 27th annual general meeting of MRSI from February 18 to February 21 at its premises. The four-day long programme will be organized jointly with Tezpur University and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati.

The Materials Research Society of India (MRSI) is an interdiscipliry society founded in 1989 by Bharat Rat Prof. CNR Rao, FRS and is dedicated to the field of Materials Science and Engineering in India. This year the Symposium MRSI-North East is aimed at providing scientists, academicians and researchers of various organizations of Northeast India (in particular), an exposure to the frontier areas of research and application in the field of materials worldwide and within the country as well and to formulate guidelines for further research and development in the country. MRSI is committed to stimulate, integrate and facilitate research in the broad areas of Materials Science for innovations in thrust areas and industrialization in the country.

The symposium will comprise award, medal and thematic lectures by eminent scientists and subject experts and poster presentation by students, researchers and scientists from various parts of the country. The speakers will address subjects like Superconductivity and Materials Science, Theoretical/Computatiol Material Sciences, no-Materials and Devices, Fine Chemicals and Soft Materials and other important subjects.
