‘Misinformation’

I would like to draw everyone’s attention to the recent negligence by Republic TV which caused misinformation. Recently a gunman shot a Jamia Milia Islamia University student who was a part of a protest march against the CAA. But a report by the Republic TV was not only misleading but also not factual. They reported that the Jamia protesters had turned violent and started firing. Being a mainstream channel was it a responsible act or an intended move of manipulation. Was this wise enough for a leading news channel to present such misinformation? I would like to request the authorities concerned to inspect a fact before producing it in front of the nation.
