Seven critically injured in dispute in Dipling Tea Estate of Sivasagar

JOYSAGAR: Seven persons sustained grievous injuries following an attack on Sunday night in Dipling Tea Estate under Kakotibari PS of Sivasagar district.

Sources said that there was a dispute over some property and farming land between two local groups of Dipling Tea Estate. On Sunday night, the dispute took a violent turn as both groups attacked each other with sharp weapons and iron bars.

During this violent attack, about seven persons received serious injuries and all were referred to AMCH, Dibrugarh. Five others sustained minor injuries and were admitted to the Dipling referral hospital. Kakotibari police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to different hospitals. Police have started an investigation.
