Tamulpur book fair to kick off today

TAMULPUR, March 17: The Tamulpur Book Fair, organized by local socio-cultural organization Akashi with a five-day programmes at Ghagra Chowk here in Baksa district, will be started from tomorrow.  A book fair magement committee with Leho Boro as president, Madanmohan Sarma as executive president, Brajendrath Deka as vice president and Ganesh Rabha as secretary has already been formed. The book fair will be started with hoisting of flag by president Leho Boro. The book fair will be formally iugurated by Tamulpur legislator Emanual Mushahary. Noted novelist Anuradha Sarma Pujari will attend as a chief guest in the iugural function. Former Tamulpur MLA Chandi Basumatary, businessman Gopal Jalan and writer Binda Swargiyari will also attend in the programme. Cultural programme will also be orgainsed in the evening as a part of the event. An interaction session on the topic ‘Role of Books in the Formation of Society,” will also be held on the concluding day of the book fair. The five-day book fair will be concluded on March 22.
