Tamulpur Police arrests one for molestation

Tamulpur: One person was arrested on Wednesday night by Tamulpur Police for molestation. The accused person has been identified as Rofikul Islam (38) from Kolgachia in Barpeta district. Rofikul is a mason by occupation and he was living in a rented house at Souraguri village near Matongapar under Tamulpur police station.

He tried to molest the teenaged girl while she went to the bathroom. The girl also lives in the same housing complex. The girl’s mother lodged an FIR at Tamulpur police station and Tamulpur police arrested Rofikul and registered a case against him. He was produced before the judicial magistrate and sent him to jail on Thursday.
