Tangla College Women’s Forum members visit Aamar Ghar

TANGLA, Feb 6: The 13th foundation day of Tangla College Women’s Forum (TCWF) was celebrated in a different manner this year with a day-long visit to Aamar Ghar, an old-age home at Patharquary in Guwahati on Sunday where about 40 senior citizens are sheltered by the Ambikagiri Memorial Trust Society.

President of TCWF, Dr. Prabha Baruah, secretary Gitali Sarmah along with Prof Shubra Ghosh, Prof.Anima B. Baruah, Dr. Hemlata Devi and Dr Sabita M. Kalita representing TCWF, besides Prof. banita Baruah of Sopur College spent the day with the inmates of the old-age home. Besides sharing lunch and other food items with the inmates, who enthusiastically participated in the get-together, TCWF members also extended a one-time fincial aid to the inmates of the old-age home.

Aamar Ghar, which is run by the Ambikagiri Roy Choudhury Memorial Trust Society, is one of the oldest old-age homes in the State capital.
