Tawang conducts third round of election training

Itanagar: The third round of election training to presiding and polling officers were conducted at Tawang on Saturday, to conduct free and fair polling during the April 11 elections in the State.

Similar training were given to the presiding officers and polling officers of Lungla and Mogto on March 14 and 15, an official communique informed here.

Master trainer Tashi Wangchu Thongdok gave a revision of the earlier training to the officials and asked them to keep on memorizing the do’s and dont’s in handling the EVM/VVPAT and conducts during polling.

Tawang district electoral officer (DEO) Sang Phuntsok in his address to the officials said they are all on deemed deputation to ECI till all the election process is over and they will have to give their service sincerely.

“A mistake in a single polling station may hamper the whole process, therefore presiding officers should keep on reading the Handbook and clarify their doubts if any during these training sessions,” the DEO said. He added that training to the polling teams would continue till last minute.

He further said if needed the officials should keep a table for any last minute update or clarification for the polling team. During the third round of election training, demonstration of all women polling station and mock polling were also conducted.
