Tea garden owners asked to announce Durga Puja bonus soon, Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: A meeting revolving around Puja bonus for the tea garden labourers was held at the district administration's (DA) office on Tuesday.

Presided over by District Development Commissioner, Jadhav Saikia, the meeting was attended by members of tea labourers groups, including Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha and ABITA, and proprietors of various tea estates. The tea garden owners were directed by the DA to announce the bonus before September 20 and give the same before October 7. They were also told to consider the digital mode for the payment of bonus to the workers. To avoid any untoward incident during the payment of bonus, the tea garden authorities were also asked to choose the date for the payment in consultation with bank officials and police administration.

The owners were asked to get in touch with the respective circle officers and police stations in case they were subjected to any adverse situation during the payment-making process.
