ITANAGAR: The training for in-service teachers of government schools of Capital Complex began on Monday at VKV Nirjuli, VKV Chimpu and Holy Cross School.

The Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex, Prince Dhawan, gracing the inaugural programme at VKV Nirjuli where the elementary-level teachers are undergoing training, stressed that focus should be on the elementary level as it is then that the students develop the foundation of their educational careers and urged the trainees to be sincere and work dedicatedly as the highest reward for a teacher is to see their students achieve their dreams in life.

He pointed out that the performance of students at the Xth and XIIth board exams last year had been quite poor. Though many schools are lacking infrastructure, however, the district adminstrations are trying to fill up the infrastructural gaps through the newly launched scheme of the State Government viz., the Chief Minister's Samast Shiksha Yojana, informed the DC.

However, the performance of a school depends on its teachers and students as can be seen in earlier days when there was no infrastructure, when the quality of education was never compromised, added the DC. Since teachers play the most important roles in students' life therefore it is necessary that "you have that passion to do justice to your job and help the children shape up the future", stressed the DC.

The training is also organised to ensure a two-way communication and sharing of knowledge as it will not only help the trainees to gain knowledge but also share their knowledge and that is how knowledge grows as learning is a continuous process, pointed out the DC.

Stating that in life success is measured on the performance outcome, the DC said that the teachers here are all highly qualified but there are some lacunae in the delivery of the knowledge which is hampering the performance of the schools. He, therefore, said that the training is also an attempt to provide a platform to exchange ideas and learn how the private schools are able to perform well.

Later, the DC informed that every teacher would undergo training in collaboration with various organisations. The training has been organised by the district administration on a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) basis without putting any burden on the government exchequer.
