Teachers' workshop held to popularize Chemistry

Rangia, June 11: A three-day teachers’ workshop sponsored by UGC was organized by the Chemistry Department of Rangia College at the auditorium hall since June 9 to popularize Chemistry among the school teachers and students. The workshop concluded on Saturday. On June 9 the workshop was iugurated by Bhabendra th Deka, former Principal and president of the governing body. The workshop started with the lecture of Dr Birinchi Kumar Das, Head of the Chemistry Department, Gauhati University, as resource person. He described to the participating teachers how to teach chemistry in an easy and attractive way. Pankaj Dutta, teacher of Asom Jatiya Vidyalaya, Noonmati, Dr Hiranya Kumar Chowdhury, Head of the Chemistry Department, Handique College, Guwahati, Dr Tapan Thakuria, Dr Akhtar Hussain, Dr. Majit Bhattacherjee from Cotton Collage, Guwahati, Dr Diganta Kumar Das Department of Chemistry of Gauhati University, attended the workshop as resource persons. Kailash Karthik N, SDO Civil, praised Dr Gitimani Deka for organizing such a workshop. All total 40 teachers from 24 schools attended the workshop.
