Teaching Learning Centre of Tezpur University to conduct a month-long induction training for teachers

Tezpur: In order to accelerate the teaching-learning process by way of promoting independent, critical and creative thinking, the Teaching Learning Centre (TLC), Tezpur University will conduct a month-long residential Induction Training of Faculty from June 11 to July 10 at the university.

“We understand that teaching is a complex and demanding work that requires highly specialized skills and knowledge to impact significantly on student learning. At TLC, we provide training focusing on the teaching-learning process that engages teachers towards the student’s concern, attention and interest,” informed Prof. Mrinmoy K. Sarma, Director, TLC.

The Induction Training of Faculty programme of Tezpur University is recognized by UGC and it is equivalent to UGC Orientation Programme. As per UGC Regulations 2018, all newly-recruited assistant professors must undergo Induction Training within the probation period. However, other interested faculty members can also apply. Faculty members of universities, colleges and institutes of higher education, who have not undergone such induction training are eligible for participation in the programme. The TLC, TU will arrange free accommodation and local hospitality for the outstation participants.
