Temples Won’t Create Jobs, Science Will, says Sam Pitroda

On Sunday, Sam Pitroda, a telecom inventor and entrepreneur, said that only science can build the future, temples will not create jobs.

At a conference on employment and entrepreneurship during the Youth Parliament at Karnavati University in Gujarat’s capital Gandhinagar, Pitroda said that he gets worried sometime on the ongoing debates of this country, which are on temples, region and caste. He also mentioned that in this country whenever you talk about employment, some way or the other political interference always takes place. For the youths of this country, temples are not going to create jobs. According to Pitroda, there are three kinds of people you should not listen to – your teachers, parents and third, politicians. And, the reason behind this is that they all have a very narrow amount of knowledge of the technologically changing world.

He also said that on a public domain that a very little conversation on science is done along with the fact that many leaders besides giving speeches have not achieved much in their life. Hence, they are not knowledgeable enough to guide our young (people).

According to Pitroda, this country lacked the right mindset to look at the jobs of tomorrow because the concept of jobs in this country is long dead.

In the form of entrepreneurship in smaller areas jobs of tomorrow will come. With focus on better energy and infrastructure, SMEs (Small and Medium-sized enterprises) will create more jobs.
