Terror of Irani Gang of Burglars Continues in Sivasagar

JOYSAGAR: A notorious gang of burglars, identified as Irani thieves, is active in Sivasagar town and the sub-urban areas despite police patrolling and vigil. This gang is giving sleepless nights to people. The gang has looted as many as three mobile phone shops, four houses and also lifted five bicycles from the Sivasagar Central Market within three days. All the victims have lodged FIRs separately in the Sivasagar Sadar PS. Sivasagar Police have launched search operation to nab the Irani burglars. Two persons have been booked on the basis of suspicion. They are Julu Hussain of Na-Ali area and Mukut Bhadra of Dorikapara area and they are being interrogated in Sivasagar Sadar PS for more information, sources informed.

On the other hand, Sivasagar ASP B. Deori launched an operation against some gamblers, anti-social elements and unethical traders in the Mornoi Kinar area, Aurjunguri, Dhaiali, By-pass area, Boniabari and Darbar Field area of the town on Monday night. Five gambling and illegal liquor dens were busted.

Moreover, the team also sealed two houses in Mornoi Kinar and Boniabari area. The owners of the houses do not stay there and taking advantage of the situation, some anti-social elements had been using the houses for unethical activities. After several public complaints, Sivasagar Police finally launched this operation and two persons have been booked in this connection.
