Tezpur MP Ram Prasad Sharma To Resign From Bharatiya Janata Party

STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI: Tezpur MP RP Sharma has announced that he will submit his resignation from the BJP party on May 25. Despite repeated appeals, Sharma was denied a seat in the Tezpur Constituency during the Lok Sabha election this year. He also expressed discontentment over non inclusion of his name in the candidature panel.

It is to be noted that Sharma had previously submitted his resignation in Delhi after rejection of his name in the candidature panel at Delhi but later cancelled out after request from party central leader. This time, however, Sharma intimated the media that after the results of the elections on May 23, he will formally hand over his resignation. “I have a proposal from Trinamool Congress and also in discussion with the AGP and Congress party but I have not made up my mind yet. I will make a decision after I hand over my resignation on May 24 or 25”, he said.
