Thakur Bari to celebrate 105th Durga Puja

DEMOW, October 5: With just one day left for Durga Puja, preparation is going on in full swing in Demow. There will be eight Durga Puja pandals in Demow Chariali. The Thakur Bari Puja in Demow Nitai Road will hold its 105th Durga Puja this year. Dadan Dubey, the priest who does the puja, said that the puja was started by his father Sital Prasad Dubey. This was the first Durga Puja in Demow Chariali, said Dadan Dubey. Every year the idols of this Puja pandal are made by Ganesh Paul, an artist whose idols are sent to various parts of the State as well. Durga Puja will start from Friday on Bel Baran and on that day the idols will be brought to the pandals.
